Welcome to Frankfort, Kentucky

Frankfort has a long and rich history in economic development, dating back to 1792, when successful negotiations and an incentives deal secured the location of the state capital.  Situated in the scenic Kentucky River valley, historic Frankfort is located in central Kentucky and enjoys a wide variety of resources that support successful economic development efforts, including existing business growth and expansion, new business attraction, creation of new businesses, and tourism.

Strategically located between Lexington and Louisville, Frankfort offers the convenience of easy access to I-64, I-75, and I-65.  In fact, Kentucky borders are within 600 miles (about one day’s drive) of two-thirds of America’s population.

Kentucky Capital Development Corporation is the economic development organization for Frankfort and Franklin County.  We promote economic development through marketing and assisting new businesses and industries as well as encouraging job retention and expansion within our existing businesses and industries.
